Collect the Cool Countryside Collection

Here at the tourist board we are already thinking well ahead into the New Year and I’m glad to report that the 2010 Countryside Collection leaflet (A guide to rural visitor attractions) is printed and poised for distribution… (and it is also the first piece of print featuring the new Visit Lancashire logo!)

Despite our increased use of the web to promote Lancashire, demand for this leaflet actually outstripped supply in 2009 and it continues to be a popular choice for both the businesses who advertise and the prospective visitors who pick up the leaflet from the 200+ locations it is distributed from.

After its initial conception five years ago using LRTi (Lancashire Rural Tourism Initiative) funding the leaflet is now almost completely self funded through advertising (the tourist board covers some of the additional distribution costs) and so is proving its sustainability.

We have increased the number of distribution points across the Northwest and Yorkshire to include service stations, transport interchanges, attractions, hotels, information points and Tourist Information Centres, so that we now print 70,000 copies of the leaflet.

The clear map of Lancashire and the fact that it has 38 different attractions in one leaflet make it a simple way to find out about things to do Lancashire.

Copies of the leaflet will be distributed in the New Year so if you would like copies for your business please let me know –
